The Ministry of Health said that it had taken all required measures to protect consumers’ safety.
The food control inspectors at the Directorate of Public Health have surveyed Kinder chocolate products and found that they are not available in the local markets, it said.
The ministry said that it is following up on warnings about some Kinder chocolate products which were withdrawn from international markets over salmonella concerns, as well as well as on notifications issued by the international network of food safety officials (infosan).
In a statement today, the ministry said that such products are subjected to required lab test to ensure consumer’s safety, adding that there is no reason for panic or worry.
