HEC Secretary-General receives delegation from George Washington University

Secretary-General of the Higher Education Council (HEC) and Deputy Chairperson of HEC Board of Trustees, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, received here today Ahlia University President, Mansoor Alaali, along with a delegation from the US-based George Washington University, including Professor Dr. Shahram Sarkani and Professor Dr. Thomas Masucci.

 

During the meeting, Dr. Sarkani reviewed the programmes offered at the George Washington University’s School of Engineering and Applied Science, including the Master of Science in Engineering Management offered in Bahrain in cooperation with the Ahlia University, which is the first higher education institution that provides one of the programmes of the George Washington University.

 

Dr. Shaikha Rana was informed about the Ahlia University’s future programmes and plans, reiterating HEC’s unwavering support for all higher education institutions in order to enable them to improve their performance at all levels and enhance their educational reputation, which will ensure the provision of the necessary labour market skills and qualifications for students and reflect positively on the national economy and the Bahraini society.

 

Ahlia University President hailed HEC’s efforts to encourage higher education institutions to attract international programmes and build international partnerships, which will contribute to boosting education in the kingdom.
