Deputy Prime Minister and President of the Supreme Council for the Development of Education and Training His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa chaired the Council’s online meeting.
HH stressed the keenness of Bahrain, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the follow-up of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to boost investment in the areas of human capital.
Education and training are one of the most important elements used to assess government programs and initiatives to develop these areas to achieve government goals and meet the aspirations of citizens, he said.
The Council reviewed the implementation of the institutional structure of the Ministry of Education that reached 88%.
The Council valued the efforts made by all teams on the implementation of the institutional structure of the Ministry of Education.
The Council stressed the need for investing in the experiences and practices throughout the implementation of the project and the importance of aligning the outcomes with the education and training strategy that the Council will oversee during the next phase.
The Council reviewed a presentation on the proposal to include environmental and economic education curricula as two key elements of the national curriculum, through introducing and strengthening themes and developing practices in order to develop environmental and economic awareness among school students and train them on the skills to tackle environmental challenges.
The proposal also aims to develop students’ ability to use economic thinking tools and methods by providing them with a range of modern skills associated with finance and business, and keep pace with best global practices to achieve sustainable development goals.
