The Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, today met with the Minister of Oil of the Republic of Iraq, His Excellency Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar Ismaael, at Gudaibiya Palace.

HRH the Deputy King highlighted the oil and gas sector’s importance as a means of economic diversification that aids development goals.

His Royal Highness welcomed HE Ismaael to the Kingdom of Bahrain, as he is scheduled to participate in the 29th Annual Middle East Petroleum & Gas Conference.

His Royal Highness noted the strength of relations between Bahrain and Iraq and the importance of further developing ties, particularly within the oil and gas industry, to achieve joint development goals.

HRH the Deputy King also expressed his wish for the Conference to contribute to the overcoming of global oil and gas challenges.

For his part, HE Ismaael expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet with His Royal Highness and highlighted His Royal Highness’s commitment to furthering Bahrain-Iraq ties.

The Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club High Committee, HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and a number of senior officials also attended the meeting.
