Information Minister announces nominations for the Prime Minister’s Press Award

Information Affairs Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi announced nominations for the 5th Prime Minister’s Press Award from April 30 until May 20.

 

“Held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the prize reflects the leadership’s support to the national press”, he said.

 

He stressed the importance of the positive impact of the national press in raising public awareness, supporting achievements and serving the homeland’s interests, in light of the wide-ranging development, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

 

Under the award regulations, each press institution or journalist working in one of the local dailies, weeklies or periodicals  or magazines issued in Bahrain in Arabic or English, and whose work is published during the year 2021, has the right to submit his entries to obtain one of the prizes presented according to the conditions set.

 

The award includes four main categories that recognize the the best opinion column, the best press investigation,  the best interview category, and the best  photo.

 

Entries are limited to  materials published in the local press only during the year 2021.

 

Each each journalist or press institution has the right to register with five entries within the same section for the awards.

 

They are not entitled to submit works that were previously rejected in local competitions, or works which previously won any Gulf or Arab press award, and the applicant for the award bears full responsibility for his submitted entries.

 

The award’s organizers do not bear any professional or legal responsibility in the event that a violation of norms is proven or that applicant has quoted, transmitted or distorted the press material published in his name.

 

If a violation is proven, the organisers reserve the right to withdraw the award from the journalist if it is granted to the recipient.
