Bahrain LNG was registered in December 2015. The terminal includes a: liquefied natural gas receiving, storage and regasification facility located offshore Hidd, with gas conditioning and send-out plant on the Khalifa Bin Salman Port (KBSP) causeway, within the Hidd Industrial Area of the Salman Industrial City. The Bahrain LNG facility is capable of providing LNG receiving and storage to a capacity of 173,400 cbm, with a regasification capacity of up to 800 mmscfd. LNG carriers supplies LNG to the terminal which is received and stored in a Floating Storage Unit (FSU), which is an asset specifically built for the Bahrain LNG import terminal. The regasification of the LNG is done on the offshore regasification platform, with the gas being transported to the onshore receiving facility through a subsea pipeline. The gas is mixed with nitrogen to make it compatible for the Bahrain gas network and is transported through another pipeline to the gas delivery point at the Hidd Metering Station.
