About Company
The goal of the transition program is to develop life skills that will help our students as they strive towards adult life. The life coach and vocational team focus on the students’ functional academic skills such as counting, following procedures, planning.
These skills are then applied by working in the areas of the school such as the Thrift Shop, library and canteen which are then integrated to the students’ daily tasks such as grocery shopping and making schedules and appointments with the end goal of acquiring independence and maturity whether at home or living alone.
Safety is very important to us. Our staff will be undergoing a regular safeguarding training. There will be a nominated senior member of the staff who will oversee our safeguarding provision. All staff are empowered to report a concern either to a member of the Senior Leadership team or the school nurse.
The safeguarding policy clearly identifies how we will deal with a concern. It may be helpful to know that the ministries require school principals to report any obvious or suspected child abuse to the proper authority. This duty is not something we consider lightly, and we hope that you would recognize that the school must act in what is believed to be in the child’s best interest.
There will also be a dedicated staff that can be contacted in the school in case of immediate concerns. Keeping your child safe is our topmost priority.
