Secretary-General of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed Al-Ameen, has participated in the International Donor Conference for Afghanistan, held by the UN to support the Afghan people.
Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed indicated that the RHF had participated in the conference to discuss the best possible ways to provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people, in light of the humanitarian crises and disasters that afflict many countries in the region as a result of the political and economic crises and their impact on the humanitarian and social level on the affected peoples and countries.
Addressing the conference, Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed said that the Kingdom was the first country to provide support to Kabul and Kandahar airports on September 5, coinciding with the change of government.
He indicated that the kingdom’s swift response to humanitarian requests submitted through the UN is the outcome of the dynamic strategy adopted by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, noting that the strategy has had a great humanitarian impact on all the brotherly and friendly countries supported by the RHF.
He said that the RHF’s strategy is based on delivering assistance, carrying out field visits to collect first-hand information about the real needs, and finally providing humanitarian support through UN agencies.
He added that thanks to its strategy, the RHF has succeeded in building 15 schools and eight hospitals and implemented other development projects in Afghanistan.
