Speaker praises HM King’s address at Jeddah Summit

Council of Representatives Speaker Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal praised the keynote speech which was delivered by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa at the Jeddah Security and Development Summit in Saudi Arabia.The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia hosted the summit, which was attended by GCC leaders, the King of Jordan, the Egyptian President, the Iraqi Prime Minister and the US president.The Speaker hailed the keynote address which, she said, reflects HM the King’s farsighted vision which stresses the importance of building partnerships to tackle challenges and highlights the political, security and economic difficulties in the Middle East.

She stressed the importance of the speech which urged cooperation to achieve security, stability and prosperity in the region and tackle major issues, especially the establishment of an independent Palestinian State, on the basis of the two-state solution and the Arab Peace Initiative, in addition to reaching a peaceful settlement in Yemen

The Speaker extended thanks to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, for hosting this extraordinary summit which provides a good opportunity to strengthen relations of friendship and strategic partnership between countries in the region and the USA.
